Reiann (b. 1999, China) is a Tokyo-based artist currently working across sculpture, textile, photography, and painting.
Since 2019, her practice has centered around natural elements—such as plants and animals—exploring the tensions between reality and imagination, anthropomorphism and mimicry, the universal and the particular, as well as the interplay between color and material.
Working as a sculptor, Reiann has collaborated extensively with fashion brands, expanding her artistic language across multiple media. These diverse forms come together to construct a distinctive visual and conceptual vocabulary.
Her work often begins with physical objects as points of entry, through which she observes and intervenes in the present. Emphasizing the subconscious, intuition, dreams, and non-rational thinking, she seeks to move beyond conventional logic. This manifests in the juxtaposition of heterogeneous elements, creating uncanny, surreal, and otherworldly imagery.
